Mountain Lodge La Chaumière

La Chaumière Mountain Lodge is the realization of a family dream. A long history of managing hotels and restaurants across Europe has helped us create a unique home away from home in the heart of the Chamonix Valley.

Since we opened the doors in 2012, we have been refurbishing this beautiful building piece by piece. We have retained the sporty and relaxed style developed by the former owners and added our own fresh Scandinavian touches.

The result is an authentic mountain lodge offering a unique fusion of Scandinavian simplicity and functionality with classic Alpine style. The warmest of welcomes awaits you at La Chaumière.

La Chaumière is in an ideal location in a quiet area on the edge of town. You'll be within walking distance to the main shopping street in the old town centre of Chamonix Mont-Blanc, and just a stone's throw from the train station and bus stop. When you stay at La Chaumière, you are steps away from some of the world's finest mountaineering.

With rooms facing either Mont-Blanc or Brevent, we offer a wonderful base camp for all types of explorers. Some of our rooms have private balconies facing the Mont-Blanc range, and all our guests can enjoy our peaceful garden behind the hotel.

"If you are going to ski then you are going to be tired and possibly sore every day. The most important things then are: good food, a hot shower and a comfy bed. La Chaumiere delivers on all three. The photos on the website show the rooms to be more modern than they are, but, this is an affordable lodge and not meant to be five star. The food was excellent - fantastic French dinners. The staff are great - helpful and friendly. Location is good because you are next to the bus stop and train station - and you don't want to be in the middle of town."

"This is a charming place to stay - it's 2 star rating does not do it justice. We stayed here for a ski trip and were half board - the food was nothing short of excellent, there is a comfortable bar area and the rooms are clean and pleasant with plenty of hooks to hang your ski gear on. Most importantly, the staff are all incredibly helpful and welcoming. Look no further, book a room here, you won't regret it."

"We stayed at Hotel La Chaumiere as a part of a reasonably large group (16 in total). Our room was very clean, fresh and comfortable - it was at the front of the Hotel, but I didn't find this to be a problem. The staff were all excellent; friendly, helpful and very welcoming - nothing was too much effort for any of the team. We were half board - breakfast was simple, but plentiful and nice - the egg boiler was a very nice touch. Dinner was nothing short of excellent every night ! The kitchen delivered all 16 servings at the same time and effortlessly accommodated a variety of dietary requirements - we had soup as a starter on 2 days the best and second best soup I have EVER had !! The comfortable bar area and the availability of ski and boot storage complete the picture - this is a lovely, good value place to stay in Chamonix with easy access to bus or train for your chosen entertainment and easy parking if you have a car."
