Manigod is a village and a family ski resort in the Aravis Mountain range, situated in the French Northern Alps, not far from Switzerland and Italy. It is friendly located between 1460 m and 1780 m altitude, in the territory of Annecy Mountains, in the Haute-Savoie department. In winter, this charming destination is ideal for discovering skiing, with family or friends! 25 km of marked slopes await you, as well as a link with the ski area of La Clusaz. Manigod has the particularity of being composed of 3 sites: The Village and its valley offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in Haute-Savoie with its magnificent views and its traditional chalets . There you will find small shops and inn where you can have lunch. Free shuttles from the village to the ski area. The Col de la Croix Fry, that you reach along a magnificent road. There you will find at the pass everything that you need to enjoy your stay: restaurants, sports shops, ski school, the ski lifts, the Croix Fry information point. It is also the starting point for the magnificent Plateau de Beauregard, with a ski link to La Clusaz from the Col. The Col de Merdassier, on the other side of the resort., with a second link to La Clusaz from the pass. There you will also find everything that you need. At Tête de Cabeau, you can enjoy a free nature trail in the snowy forest and admire the sunset in a very protected environment. Above all, in Manigod you can practise all types of skiing, alpine skiing, nordic skiing and ski-touring, between peaks and fir forests, punctuated by magnificent views and old chalets. The Aravis Mountain range is one of the places in the Alps where the rural way of life has continued. The economical activity in Manigod is based on both agropastoralism and tourism. Manigod remains one of the most agricultural village in Haute-Savoie, with about twenty-five farms which are producing goat and cow cheese. The most famous is « reblochon ». Still often, people have a double job here, pluriactivity is really one of the specific features in a mountain environment, even for young people. This consists of carrying out at least two activities during the year, either successively or at the same time. They will be ski instructors or ski patrollers in winter and farmers, plumbers, electricians or carpenters the rest of the year. There are also many small companies linked to wooden industries (chalet buildings and renewals), small workshops, artisans and craftsmen.
